DESCRIPTION:We will close Elgin Terrace from Main Road to Ayr Street to through traffic between the hours of 7am and 7pm on Saturday 5 October 2024.\n\n\nThe purpose of the closure is to run the Rakiura Challenge Trail Run.\n\n\nA detour will not be available but the road will be reopened as soon as safely possible in the event of an emergency.\n\n\nGood luck to all those involved in the trail run.

DESCRIPTION:A 32km trail race around the Rakiura Track – one of the most varied and diverse trails in New Zealand on the southern-most Great Walk. The Rakiura Track show-cases a unique environment that spans from one coast of Stewart Island to the other through dense forest to epic coast! \nRakiura\, the Māori name for Stewart Island\, translates as ‘land of the glowing skies’.
