SUMMARY:Rakiura Toy Library session
DESCRIPTION:Rakiura Toy Library is the community toy library for Rakiura residents and visiting families. Run by a small number of passionate individuals\, determined to enrich our children with quality\, sustainable toys at as low a cost to families and to the planet. The Toy Library aims to provide a good range of toys for children from birth to teens.  \nEach fortnight between approximately 10 and 11am\, a session is hosted where you can come in with or without your kids to borrow and return toys. A small amount of children’s clothing is available to purchase for a small donation. We have a free seed library. \nWe are a volunteer run Toy Library. To find out more about joining our Toy Library volunteer team\, have a chat with one of the team; Liz Cave\, Alina Atkins\, Carolin Loefller\, Karin Lewis and Bridget Carter.  \nWe hope you and your family enjoy the experience. This is your library and we need your ideas to make it work. Please tell us if you have any toy or other suggestions\, queries or concerns.

SUMMARY:Matariki Pou Tupuārangi Unveiling & Blessing
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the pā Rakiura\, Te Ao Mārama Inc Southland and the Southland District Council we would like to invite you all along with the community to the unveiling and blessing of our Matariki Pou  Tupuārangi at Trail Park on Friday 14th between 9.30 – 10am. \nTupuārangi is the one of the stars in the Te Kāhui o Matariki\, the Pleiades star cluster and is associated with food that comes from the sky such as birds\, or elevated fruit or berries from trees\, appropriate for Rakiura.  Tupuārangi is 1 of 9 pou that has been installed temporarily throughout the Southland District this year. \nThey will be replaced with new ones in time for Matariki 2024 what\, where and how each pou will look will be communicated through a series of collaborative iwi and community hui.  We will keep you all abreast of up-and-coming hui times and dates for this kaupapa.
